All the preparations you need to make before giving birth in Miami. Don't miss any detail with the step-by-step checklist.

If you have decided to give birth in Miami, the pre-birth preparation process is very important. Proper planning makes the process much easier and less stressful. As a team that has been working with families for years, we have prepared a comprehensive checklist. If you follow this list, you can prepare without missing any detail.

Travel Planning (Weeks 20-24 of Pregnancy)

The first step is to determine your travel dates. It is recommended to go to Miami between weeks 28-32 of pregnancy. Reserve your plane tickets early, prices are more affordable. Prefer direct flights, connecting flights are tiring. Get travel approval from your doctor and carry your report with you. Get travel health insurance, choose a policy that covers pregnancy complications.

Accommodation Arrangements (Weeks 24-26 of Pregnancy)

Decide where you will stay in Miami. Prefer safe areas close to the hospital. Evaluate Airbnb or long-term rental options. Places with kitchen facilities reduce food expenses. When making accommodation reservations, read the cancellation conditions carefully. Prefer reservations with flexible cancellation options.

Hospital and Doctor Selection (Weeks 26-28 of Pregnancy)

Research and compare hospitals in Miami. Prefer hospitals with neonatal intensive care units. When choosing a doctor, consider experience, language support and patient reviews. If possible, visit the hospital in advance. Compare birth packages and prices. Clarify payment plans.

Document Preparation (Weeks 26-30 of Pregnancy)

Check the validity of your passport. Collect all your medical reports, ultrasound results and blood tests. Have these documents translated into English. Prepare a notarized translation of your marriage certificate. Learn the documents required for your baby's documents.

Financial Planning (Weeks 24-28 of Pregnancy)

Calculate your total budget. Include hospital, accommodation, flights, food and other expenses. Set aside 20% extra in your budget for unexpected expenses. Follow exchange rates and buy foreign currency at the right time. Increase your credit card limit, it may come in handy in emergencies.

Health Preparation (Weeks 28-32 of Pregnancy)

Make your final check-up appointment with your doctor. Take enough of your medications with you. Don't forget your vitamins and supplements. Exercise appropriately for pregnancy, prepare physically for birth. Attend prenatal courses, learn breathing techniques and birth positions.

Packing (1 Week Before Departure)

Get comfortable clothes, maternity clothes and plenty of clothes for after birth. Don't forget your personal care products. Prepare your hospital bag: nightgown, slippers, sanitary pads, nursing bra. Get a few onesies, blankets and hats for your baby. Check your electronic devices and chargers.
